K-VP43XL Communications Interface
Converter is an adjustment-free, Plug & Play interface converter.
It works with the most common interfaces used in the video and presentation
industry: RS-232, RS-485 and RS-422. Any control message that is presented
on one interface is translated to the other interfaces with the same speed
and format. The converter avoids the limitation of RS-232 and RS-422 interfaces
that allow only a one-to-one connection. RS-232 in and RS-232 out connectors
allow fully transparent RS-232 daisy chaining of several K-VP43XL
units, allowing each one to be connected to a proprietary RS-422 controlled
machine. Up to 32 units may be connected to a K-VP43XL via its RS-485
interface. One of 5 baud rates (from 1200 up to 38400 baud) may be selected,
as well as a Master/Slave and a Straight/Inverse connection for the RS-422
interface. Also, Pins 2 and 3 on the RS-232 interface may be crossed to
avoid using null-modem cables in daisy-chain connections. The K-VP43XL
is part of the new Kramer Tools family of compact, high quality, and cost-effective
solutions for a variety of applications.
