The K-706xl receiver
works in conjunction with the K-705xl transmitter as a high performance set
designed to transmit composite video signals over long distances using
common twisted pair cable. The K-705xl transmitter has two independent TP
outputs derived from a single, looped-through video input. Each output
can be adjusted individually for Gain and Cable EQ., (for two separate,
simultaneous paths of operation; or for two sets of TP wires having differing
qualities). The K-706xl receiver allows for branching – as it has
a loop through input with a termination switch.
Using good quality cable, the system can maintain the bandwidth of an
industrial color video signal up to 1000 meters, and a broadcast quality
signal (as high as 12 MHz) up to 300 meters. At shorter distances, a bandwidth
of 30 MHz is easily achieved. Kramer twisted pair adapters are an excellent
way to solve remote monitoring requirements without using more costly
fiber or wireless transmission systems. The recommended wiring is UTP
– unshielded twisted pair. The machines are house in the Kramer
Tools size enclosure, fed by a 12VDC power supply, and therefore are appropriate
for fieldwork as well.
