HDTV Converters are used to convert between standard video signals and HDTV formats.  Since HDTV Display devices, such as Digital TV Sets and HDTV Ready Large Screen TV Sets, offer superior picture performance, the quality of Composite Video, S-Video or YCbCr Component Video can be greatly improved by converting into an HDTV format, such as 480p, 5766p, 720p or 1080i.

HDTV Routing Switchers are used to select which of a number of inputs is routed to the outputs. For example, several HDTV devices can be routed to the Component Video input of an HDTV Set.  They can handle YPbPr or YCbCr format signals.
